Sidecars

Adapters that translate legacy controllers into a clean, routed field layer — letting crews and enthusiasts upgrade step-by-step.

The goal

  • Keep your controller investment: Sidecars listen to the firing outputs from your existing system (Cobra and others) and turn them into well-behaved trigger inputs for Connect.
  • Capture cue energy safely: Polarity-agnostic hardware treats each cue as a two-wire pair, so it works with systems that switch on the positive or the negative side.
  • Continuity-safe thresholds: Basic continuity checks from the host controller are designed not to look like real fire events. A trigger only fires once it crosses a defined “this is an actual fire command” threshold.
  • Clean separation of domains: Sidecars keep the host’s firing energy domain separate from Connect’s logic domain, which simplifies grounding, safety analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Universal options: In addition to controller-specific models, a Universal Sidecar uses terminal blocks so it can tie into almost any firing system’s cue outputs with simple wiring.

Once triggers reach Connect, routing, continuity, and logging are handled entirely in the PyroNext field layer.

Once signals reach Connect, routing, continuity, and logging are handled entirely in the PyroNext field layer.
